Effective direct mail campaigns

It is not that difficult to have an effective direct mail campaign that draws in customers both new and old. It only takes a little bit of work to create an effective system for your company.

The first and most important concept to make sure to take care of when having a direct mail listing is to have a clear objective of what you want to accomplish with your mailing. Do you want more customers or do you want to offer an incentive to get the customers that you have already to come back to purchase more? Having an idea of what you want to accomplish with your mailings will help conserve money and make your direct mailing campaign effective.

Make your direct mailing campaign personal. People like to receive letters in the mail from friends and relatives and not junk mail. Making your direct mailing campaign more like a letter to a friend than a junk mail add will keep your advertisement from being thrown away.

Give incentives everyone loves to get something whether it be a discount or a free item. An incentive can be aimed at returning customers to keep them coming back for more or to new customers not yet familiar with your company. Incentives can work for either customer category.

Why should they use your company? Put in the direct mail campaign the benefits and reasons why they should come back to use your again or use you for the first time. Make sure they know why you are better than any of your competitors out there. However, keep this relatively humble. No one likes an inflated ego.

Never forget to leave a way for them to contact your business. Should they come into a store, call your over the phone or visit your website. It would be a travesty to have a customer that wants to use your product and is sold on your advertisement but has absolutely no way to reach you to take advantage of that new found knowledge.

Taking these steps will help make your direct mail campaign effective in bringing in customers to your business. Not only to save you money but to also increase your profits. With these things in mind you too can run an effectively keep your business in the minds of the average consumer, bringing your business to the next level.

Seven keys to happiness

This article summarizes much of what I’ve learned thus far on my journey to self-discovery and positive growth. Along the way, through many of life’s ups and downs, with the help of many awesome teachers and mentors, I now most often live in a state of happiness and contentment. I still have lots to learn but I wanted to share with you what I’ve found most helpful thus far. I truly believe that all people have the capacity to choose their mental attitude. Therefore, if happiness is what you desire, then you must choose it. Here are some helpful ideas to help you do just that.

1. Self-Worth

Self-worth—without it, happiness will always be just beyond your grasp. Self-worth is, of course, something that can be measured along a continuum. It isn’t like you either have it or you don’t. You can possess varying degrees and those degrees can themselves vary depending on the circumstances of your life.

Generally, the person who is happiest has a healthy amount of self-worth without an inflated view of their own self-importance. This is the fine line that must be walked between confidence and arrogance.

Confidence implies a certain sense of surety while recognizing that each of us is just a different cog in a very big wheel. No one person is any more important than anyone else. Those with high self-worth know their life’s purpose. They are in tune with what their mission is and proceed to make it their life’s work. They also recognize the value of everyone else with whom they share space.

Those who are arrogant recognize their own self-worth but then proceed to look down upon those they deem as unworthy. Then at the other end of the continuum, there are those who recognize the importance of others but don’t believe they are worthy to breathe air.

A healthy balance of self-worth is the key.

2. Gratitude

The second key to happiness is gratitude. It is human nature to enumerate the things that are NOT the way we want them to be. We are programmed to notice when things are off, and not necessarily appreciate when all is as we want it. This makes maintaining an attitude of gratitude a challenge but nonetheless something we should strive for. I have mentioned before that Universal Law tells us that we attract those things we think about most often. When we are grateful for what we have, more is bestowed upon us.

I know someone who believes, “No good deed goes unpunished” and lives his life accordingly. Another person I know always says, “I have the worst luck. Nothing good ever happens to me.” And you know what? They are right! The Universe delivers to them exactly what they expect. There are others who have similar bad luck but who persevere or find the lesson in the situation. These people find more happiness and contentment in return.

Another point about gratitude is to be thankful for what you have. I love the line in the song that says, “It’s not having what you want; it’s about wanting what you got!” There’s nothing wrong with wanting to do better than you are as long as you are grateful along the way. Even when things are bad, there is always good to be found in it. Life is in perfect balance and order. Anything with a great deal of pain associated with it also has a tremendous positive side if we are of the mind to see it.

3. Positive Life Framing

The third key to happiness is positive life framing. There are three ways to view any piece of information—positively, negatively or neutrally. Viewing information as neutral is the best way to go through life. It allows us to accept everything as it comes and to stop resisting what actually is in any given moment. However, many of us have great difficulty with that one.

As an incremental step, it is helpful to find a way to reframe life’s negative events into positive ones. Even in life’s tragedies, there is a way to find something positive about the situation. Almost always, in hindsight, we can see the benefit. The real benefit comes when we are able to see the benefit as the tragedy unfolds, or at least stay open to the thought that there is a benefit even if you are unable to see it in that moment. Just as in physics where there can be no neutron without a proton, so it is with life where there can be no negative event without a corresponding positive one.

4. Internal Locus of Control

The fourth key to happiness is possessing an internal locus of control. People who have an internal locus of control believe that they are responsible for their own behavior and its results based on their own personal decisions and efforts. This is contrasted with those who have an external locus of control. These individuals believe that their behavior is determined by external circumstances such as other people, fate, luck or circumstances beyond their control.

Having an internal locus of control produces a “can do” attitude. An external locus of control generally results in a helpless attitude. Even though people with an internal locus of control still have situations that occur that are beyond their control, they will seek some action that can be taken by them to improve the situation. They do not spend time bemoaning the fact that something bad happened to them. They look for decisive action opportunities to turn things around.

In this way, a person is more in charge of their own destiny. They can reject the role of victim and take definitive action to create greater life satisfaction.

5. Lifelong Learning

The fifth key to happiness is to adopt an attitude of lifelong learning. Your goal each day should be to learn something new. As you encounter new people and situations, look for the wisdom that can be extracted from them. Particularly in areas where we believe we made a “mistake”, seek to uncover the lesson. There is always a lesson to be learned.

When we believe we know all there is to know, that is when we are in dangerous territory. When we think we know all, then we stop learning from the people and situations in our path. When we stop looking for the lessons, we begin to blame things external to ourselves for the pain we experience instead of seeking to learn whatever we need to know for our life’s journey.

6. Love

Love is the sixth key to happiness. I am not talking about having a significant other in your life who loves you. I’m talking about having love inside of you that is just bursting out of you to touch others. Unconditional love is a concept we all strive for—unfortunately, most of us are looking to receive it rather than give it. You are truly fortunate and blessed when you have the unconditional love of someone—whether it’s your life partner, your mother, father, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, foster parent, friend or puppy!

Truly unconditional love is rare and a gift to be cherished. However, ask yourself the question, how many times have you extended unconditional love? Do you have unconditional love for your fellow human beings? This is the kind of love that will lead to happiness. It doesn’t matter if that special someone doesn’t love you back, it’s what’s in YOUR heart that matters. Are you someone who only loves as much as you feel you are being loved in returned? That certainly isn’t unconditional! If you are seeking love in your life, then you must be loving in order to attract the love you seek. This will lead to the ultimate happiness—loving, expecting nothing in return. Try it.

7. Contribution

The last key to happiness is contribution. This is a combination of knowing and following one’s life purpose. When people understand their divine purpose in this life and then go about fulfilling that purpose, they are making an awesome contribution to the good of mankind. Having meaningful work and leaving a legacy is an important key to happiness. When we do the work we were meant to do, we touch lives. It doesn’t matter whether one’s purpose is to clean the public restrooms or to find the cure for AIDS, following your divine purpose will bring about a strong life fulfillment that cannot be experienced any other way. Contribution is critical to happiness.

Implementing these seven keys to happiness in one’s life is not an easy task. Personal coaching can be helpful as you are attempting to change some old, harmful habits into more productive, happiness-inducing ones. Jack Canfield says, “Of all the things successful people do to accelerate their trip down the path to success, participating in some kind of coaching program is at the top of the list. A coach will help you clarify your vision and goals, support you through your fears, keep you focused, confront your unconscious behaviors and old patterns, expect you to do your best, help you live by your values, show you how to earn more while working less, and keep you focused on your core genius.” Why not give it a try?

Pc software delivers customised printing

LabelFive Premier, the new PC software, enables printers to deliver fast, low-cost labels and tickets.

LabelFive produces labels or tickets printed with barcode, address, identification, price and images, including photographs and stock and tracking information.

The design and printing software supports Windows 95, 98 and NT4.0 for use with any label, ticket, laser, inkjet or dot-matrix printer. It is Year 2000 compliant.

LabelFive also offers high speed printing control, using DCL (direct control language) for Eltron, TEC and Star label printers.

Features include text, image, standard and PDF417 barcode printing and Twain and Video For Windows image acquisition interfaces. Internal variable data sources include an Access-based database, date/time, keyboard input and global counter sources.

LabelFive also offers ODBC and SQL drivers for connection to almost any external database, database report printing, batch printing and user-defined security logins. Printing from third party applications is provided by the database-polling ‘Autoprint’ function: ideal for high volume production, it allows the use of several PCs to input details for fast output at any number of printers.

The Autoprint feature also enables a choice of printer to be made for each individual label or ticket, without user intervention, based on the label contents. This means that, by loading one printer with labelstock and another with plain paper, both labels and tickets can be produced in a single print run. It also allows the use of any existing database as a source for label or ticket information, without the need for changes to the database.

Christmas gifts for coworkers and neighbors

What do you get for your neighbors for Christmas?

How about your coworkers?

Your neighbors and colleagues are people you would see everyday. At home, your neighbors are closest to you. In case of an emergency in your home, your family and friends who live far away may not reach you in time. Your neighbors may well be the ones you have to count on to save your life, or the lives of your loved ones.

If you work, chances are you would spend most of your waking hours in the office with your coworkers. A poor working relationship with your colleagues can make life plain miserable. Being great friends with your colleagues whom you see everyday can make a major difference to the quality to life in the office.

It is wise to build a good relationship with your neighbors and colleagues.

Exchanging gifts is a great way to help build rapport. Or at least a cordial relationship. As is helping one another, forgiving the careless words that might hurt and basically building an easy-going, give and take relationship with the people you see everyday.

Back to the topic of Christmas gifts. What do you get for your colleagues and neighbors?

If you know them well enough, you might pick a gift that is in line with their hobbies. A new set of golf clubs for an avid golfer if you budget permits it. Eye cream for a neighbor or colleague who keeps complaining about her dark rings under the eyes or crows feet.

For the office gift exchange or for coworkers or neighbors you might not know very well, but would like to impress, Christmas gift wine might be more appropriate, unless they are teetotalers, that is.

I know, the temptation to recycle unwanted Christmas gifts from last year is strong and you know what? You might be able to get away with it. Two rules to remember.

1. Don't give the gift back to the one who gave it to you.

2. Match the gift to the recipient. One man's junk is another's treasure, so give these presents to people who would actually use them.

Christmas food gifts are very versatile and more affordable. These are wonderful for neighbors and colleagues especially if you are afraid something too personal might cause misunderstanding. Everyone must eat, so good food would be appreciated by both sexes and by the young and old alike. In fact, food gifts are your best bet.

Cookies make great Christmas gifts. If you have the time, you can bake your own. If not, you can always buy delicious cookies beautifully packaged as Christmas gifts for anyone who is not on a diet. Home made Christmas cookies make cheap Christmas gifts that would be well received.

If you want to give something that shows some effort and save money as well, how about giving Christmas cookies to everyone, in pretty basket tins. Make them yourself in bulk quantities and you would save quite a lot of money. Get flour, eggs and baking ingredients and cookie recipes to make an assortment of Christmas cookies. Use cookie cutters to cut the cookies into festive shapes. Put them in airtight tins or pretty baskets and present them to your neighbors and coworkers for Christmas.

Too much work? Give perfume coffrets. For a family with women or teenage girls, or even one with guys who are well groomed, a fragrance coffret for the girls or guys or both, would be a nice change from food gifts.

Hearing aids on the nhs

For as long as most of us can remember there has been a lengthy wait for a NHS hearing assessment and the subsequent fitting of NHS analogue hearing aid, with many people waiting many months to complete the process.

The more recent introduction of digital hearing aids has greatly improved the performance of modern hearing aids. However this has also lead to an increase in demand from new users and those looking to upgrade their current analogue hearing aids. This increased demand has impacted service levels and many NHS waiting lists have increased as a result.

It is a Government commitment to ensure assessments for hearing aids are made within a six weeks. Unfortunately this target only relates to the first stage of the process and makes no difference if patients have to endure months on a waiting list before prescribed hearing aid is actually fitted. Lengthy delays between assessment and fitting can also lead to the need for a re-assessment at the time of fitting.

The RNID estimates that around five hundred thousand people are currently waiting to have digital hearing aids fitted by the NHS.

The RNID also said:

"We remain seriously concerned about the capacity of the NHS to meet the Government’s aim of ensuring that no-one waits more than 18 weeks for a hearing aid fitting by the end of 2008."

There main area of concern is that the push to meet these new targets may result in a fall in the quality of the service offered.

As a result many people in the UK choose to opt out of the NHS service and buy their digital hearing aid directly from a retailer who can offer instant services.

4 steps to help heal a broken heart

Heartbreak is a pain like any other. It is an emotional pain so bottomless that it can feel like a physical blow. When you have a pain like this one, all you want is for the deep ache to go away. As much as I’d like to advise differently, there is no band aid for a broken heart. Though it sounds clichй, time is the remedy needed for you to truly heal from such a deep, wrenching pain. In time, this pain will go away. Between now and then, however, following a few basic tips might be able to make the difference in how you are feeling.

1. Cry: You are going to feel like rubbish for the first few weeks. Depending how emotional of a person you are, you may feel like crying for days. Go ahead. A significant change has occurred in your life; a painful change. There is no way to expect that you will feel a little sadness and be able to shut it off with a switch. It’s just not that simple. Allow yourself to grieve for your loss. But not too long! Staying in the past for too long can only hurt you. See rule number 4.

2. Talk to Someone Close: Use the shoulder of someone who cares about you to get out your feelings. This is a way to purify your soul by letting someone in to share your pain. Let them listen, comfort you, and offer advice. You don’t necessarily have to take that advice, but sharing this comfort can make you feel better. Make sure you only allow yourself to grieve and lean on someone for a time because you need to move forward.

3. Distract Yourself: Bring friends you care about back into your life. Maybe having the relationship was keeping you from spending time with your parents, or siblings. Maybe you hadn’t talked to your best friend in weeks. Surround yourself with this support network. Getting things that need to be done around the house done is a great way to get lost in a project. Go to the gym. Organize your closet. Get out and take a walk. Distracting yourself is a great stepping stone to moving on with your life. This brings us to rule number 4.

4. Look toward the Future; Forget the Past: Once you have allowed yourself the indulgence of grieving for a part of your life that is now past, look forward! There is a definite need to be able to start a new chapter in the book of your life. Now that you are past the sadness and anger, it is time for hope and renewal that will help you to move on. Take time out for yourself; get to know yourself as a single individual instead of as part of a couple. Replenish your soul by becoming you again.

Following these sometimes difficult, but necessary steps, you can begin to heal the broken pieces of your heart. You can not only become whole again, you can become whatever you wish to become. This is a chance to start fresh, and once the pain starts to ease, you will see it as such an opportunity.

Create an inspiring wine bottle garden fountain

Have you ever known anyone that collects wine bottles? While there are many beautifully shaped and colorful wine bottles, there does not seem to be many uses for them once the alcohol is consumed. People have been known to use the wine bottles as candle holders; the candle wax melting down the sides of the bottles make for a very unique indoor decoration. Often people just collect the bottles and add them to their shelves. In this case the bottles are more like dust collectors.

One great idea for empty wine bottles is to use them to create an outdoor garden fountain. Not only will you be creating an uplifting and almost spiritual design, but also you will be helping Mother Earth by recycling what otherwise would be a dumpster contribution. For more information on garden fountains visit http://www. garden-fountains. com/garden-info/water-and-fountains-1.html.

The Basics

In order to create a wine bottle garden fountain you must first decide on where you want to dig the hole that will accommodate a minimum of 18 bottles, a spray fountainhead, water pump, a sump, rocks, bricks and some pavers. All of your materials are going to be submerged.

The wine bottles will be turned upside down so that the bottoms are at the top. You want to find traditional wine bottles in a variety of colors, as their bottoms are concave. The dipped bottoms catch the water as it sprays from the fountainhead and create magical, tiny, colorful pools. The reflection from the tiny pools that this creates in the sunlight is spectacular and inspiring.

Your water fountain will be circular as the bottles dictate an automatic circle design when put together. Start with a six-bottle core and then each ring after that will double your need for wine bottles (i. e.: six for the core, 12 for the second ring and if you desire a larger garden fountain you will need 24 bottles for the third ring). The first six bottles will be strapped around the rainwater pipe held together with waterproof tape. Be careful when handling the bottles, as the sheer weight of them will make them difficult to carry. Use goggles or protective eyewear when working with glass. For other water fountain ideas and inspirations go to http://www. garden-fountains. com/fountain-selection-guide-visual. html.

Basically, you want to cover the hole with plastic sheeting to ensure proper drainage. You will then fill the plastic lined hole with bricks to hold the bottles in place, the submersible water pump, armored piping to channel the wiring under the lawn or pavers and small cobblestones and gravel to arrange around the bottles, serving as more support. The spray nozzle fountainhead will obviously rise above in the center. After you arrange some larger, decorative rocks atop the fountain to hide all the hardware, you will finally add the pavers to hold everything in place and hide the plastic sheeting.

You will want to consult with a home and garden center expert if you have any questions about the specifics on setting up your wine bottle garden fountain. You may also do some research online for specific instructions as well as thumb through any fountain project literature.

Delightful Sight

Indeed, the combination of colorful wine bottles, decorative, smooth, river rock and cement pavers is a magical sight. Wine bottle garden water fountains lend themselves well to many different themed gardens. It is a definitely conversational piece as you can talk about how you were able to collect each wine bottle and how you are proud of your recycling efforts. Wine bottle spray water fountains are beautiful and eco-friendly. For another water fountain idea check out http://www. garden-fountains. com/Detail. bok? no=1075.

The importance of homeschooling laws

For various reasons many parents decide to homeschool their children. Homeschooling can provide an enhanced learning experience that far surpasses what can be had in a public or private school system. There are many advantages to home schooling especially during the elementary years.

However, before you even consider homeschooling, you must make certain you are familiar with the laws governing homeschooling in your state and in your school district. You want to make sure you stay within the law because there can be serious consequences if you do not. Some of these consequences may even have an affect on whether your child will be accepted into postsecondary educational institutions especially if they are state run.

Homeschooling laws vary from state to state so you must know the laws as they pertain to you. There are certain states which are very homeschool friendly and if homeschooling will be your lifestyle for several years, you may want to consider moving to one of these states. There are also states on the other end of the spectrum which make it very difficult for families to homeschool. Inquire with you local school board, you will probably be required to register with the school board even though you are homeschooling. You might be asked to complete a letter of intent that you will be homeschooling your children and have to file the appropriate forms before the fall deadline each year.

Instead of navigating the maze of laws and bureaucracies on your own, seek help from your local homeschooling association chapter. They will be well familiarized with the laws and procedures for your area.

The law also requires that your children take standardized tests so your child can legally be assigned to a grade level in your school district.

You will also be required to keep certain homeschooling documents on file as well as coursework for a certain amount of time. It is possible in some of the more homeschooling unfriendly states that you will be subject to periodic audits of your homeschooling paperwork.

It really isn’t difficult to follow the laws that are set forth by each state and even though you may not agree with them, it is in the best interest of your children to comply with the laws and make sure you understand them. It is your children’s education future at stake if you if you don’t follow the laws carefully and on time.

Is coffee good for you or bad for you

Many sober, law abiding people who would never dream of knowingly ingesting a mind - altering drug, actually consume one every day—caffeine!

Caffeine is so pervasive in our culture and in many other cultures that we often forget it is actually a drug that affects our brain. Caffeine is present in coffee, tea, many cola drinks and over the counter medications.

The most common way that most of us ingest caffeine is in the form of coffee. And some of us drink many cups of coffee in a day.

If you are one of those people who drinks a lot of coffee daily, you probably wonder what all that coffee is doing to you. Is coffee really bad for you, or is drinking coffee just a harmless vice? Can it be possible that coffee is actually good for us?

The research on coffee shows mixed results. Some studies show that drinking coffee increases the rate of heart attacks, while other studies have shown that drinking large amounts of coffee decreases the risk of diabetes.

There are nutritional advisers who claim that coffee makes us age faster, wears out our adrenal glands, and causes all sorts of untold damage to our cells.

Other researchers claim that coffee, especially if it’s freshly roasted and ground, is full of antioxidants, and therefore good for us. Most doctors say that drinking one or two cups of coffee a day is probably not harmful. And of course there are others who say we ought to avoid caffeine altogether.

The one thing that most researchers and most coffee drinkers agree on is that coffee can keep us awake at night and cause insomnia if we drink it late in the day.

Yet many of us drink coffee precisely because we want to boost up the activity of our brain cells, especially when we first wake up.

Many of us feel that we cannot really get going in the morning until we have had our first cup of coffee. We often continue to drink coffee throughout the day whenever our energy appears to be flagging and our brain seems to need additional help to think more clearly.

Does caffeine really enhance mental performance, or is that just a myth? Yes, caffeine does give a temporary boost to brain cells. But the amount required to improve mental performance is not very high. Even half a cup of coffee will be enough to give your brain a boost that lasts several hours.

Oddly enough, more caffeine is not necessarily better. In one test done when high-level executives were given the equivalent of fourteen cups of coffee in a day, they made their decisions faster, but the decisions were not of very good quality.

Not every person reacts to caffeine in the same way. Some people experience greater mental clarity, alertness and productivity after a cup of coffee. Other people become jittery, anxious, or depressed when they drink coffee. Although caffeine will keep most of us awake if taken at night, it does not have this effect in everyone.

In some older people, coffee or tea can improve memory and alertness enough to partly offset the effects of aging.

It is true that caffeine is mildly addicting for most people. Some people can quit using caffeine with absolutely no withdrawal symptoms, while others will feel headaches, fatigue, and experience cravings for caffeine for weeks.

Caffeine works by blocking one of the neurotransmitters--adenosine—which normally tells brain cells to calm down. Brain cells that have been affected by caffeine will remain excited and on high alert for several hours.

The most noticeable negative effect of caffeine is that it can interfere with sleep. In most people, drinking coffee, tea or cola in the late afternoon or in the evening will cause insomnia.

If you are particularly affected by caffeine, you will find that the quantity and quality of your sleep will be greatly reduced. This can set off a vicious cycle, where you feel so tired all the next day that you drink a lot more coffee just to try to feel awake.

If this is happening to you, cut back on the amount of coffee you consume each day. You may experience fewer withdrawal symptoms if you cut down gradually. You may wish to substitute green tea for some of your cups of coffee. Green tea has some caffeine, but not as much as coffee.

Better yet, consider substituting exercise for some of those cups of coffee. If you can’t leave your workplace, at least get up from your chair periodically.

Do a few stretches, walk around a bit, and jump up and down a few times. Take some deep breaths. A little exercise break can revitalize your brain without giving you the caffeine jitters.

Remember that your brain won’t really benefit from more than one or two cups of coffee in a day.

Motorcycle tips for the beginner riding enthusiast

There are many options available to the burgeoning motorcycle riding enthusiast. There is help though. The following tips will help to point a beginner in the right direction. Hopefully you will come to enjoy motorcycle riding like so many other people in this world.

The smell of lightweight oil, the rumble of the seat, the slight hint of octane perfume lingers in the air as you slip on your motorcycle helmet. You have your motorcycle boots on, and a rain suit packed on your motorcycle luggage rack. You ease the clutch out slowly and rev the throttle slightly, gliding forward, like a large self propelled ice skate.

The moment is yours. You have all of your motorcycle gear and apparel and have taken off into the wild blue yonder on a journey for your soul. The road and you become one, with your motorcycle as the medium, for your transitive state of mind. Your blood begins to race through your veins, your heart racing in tune with the engine. The vibration of the engine massages every muscle in your body at once. There is really no other feeling that comes close to riding a motorcycle.

If you are a beginner rider there are some attributes about motorcycle riding that you should consider. The first is motorcycle gear, and motorcycle apparel. You should always wear a motorcycle helmet. Motorcycle boots are a nice addition as well. But why stop there? Buy a second set of motorcycle apparel as safe keeping in your motorcycle luggage rack. There may be times that you will need to change clothes on a long trek through the countryside.

You probably won't need to buy multiple motorcycle helmets, unless you have a partner with you for the trip. In which case, there is a definite reason to make sure that you have enough motorcycle luggage storage space. All of your motorcycle apparel can be stored neatly in a motorcycle luggage trailer. Other options available for motorcycle luggage are motorcycle sissy bar bags, motorcycle saddle bags, leather tool bags, and leather windshield bags.

Motorcycle boots have evolved over the century or so of motorcycling's history. There are many different styles and colors to choose from today. A popular style of motorcycle boot used to be WWII combat boots. They were durable, had high sides to help protect from muffler burns, and were water resistant to help protect against the occasional puddle.

Many types of motorcycle gear have been made for todays motorcycle riding enthusiast. From mechanical additions to the motorcycle itself, to additional motorcycle gear for the rider. There are leather and textile jackets, rain suits, leather sissy bar bags, leather tool bags, eye goggles, leather and textile gloves, leather and textile pants, chaps and boots. In sizes ranging from young to old, short to tall, a multitude of choices await you when you purchase your next set of motorcycle apparel.

When purchasing your motorcycle gear, motorcycle apparel and motorcycle boots, remember to get some leather cleaning products for all of your new motorcycle gear. This will help to ensure that the gear you have now, you will have for years even decades to come. There may be many types of leather cleaning products available, but talk to the owner of the shop from where you purchased the motorcycle apparel, and they should be able to point you towards a proven product. After all, they have to keep all of that leather clean while it waits to be boughten from a consumer.

Natural-fiber-carpet

Natural Fiber Carpet

Natural fibers used with carpet are produced either

by insects, animals, or even plants. The fibers

that are produced by insects or animals are known as

protein fibers. Those that are made by plants are

known as vegetable fibers. Vegetable and protein

fibers share the common disadvantage that they are

both very absorbent and will have extended drying

times when wet cleaned - which can lead to mildew,

shrinkage, and even dry rot.

Wool

Wool fiber is produced from the fleece of lambs or

sheep. Wool of carpet is imported from countries

such as England, Australia, and New Zealand. Wool

is the oldest and considered to be the finest of

all carpet material.

The ability of wool to stretch up to 40% of its

original length and the fact that it can be bent

back and forth more than 180,000 times without

breaking makes it very resilient. Wool is the most

expensive material for carpet, although it is also

the best you can buy.

Silk

The fiber of silk is produced by the larva of

various insects known as silk worms. The silk, in

continuous lengths from 300 to 1600 yards is spun

to produce the cocoons. As a fiber, silk is naturally

non flammable, strong, and not affected by static

charge problems - even at low humidity.

Cellulose fiber

This type of fiber is produced by plants and normally

not used as face yarns. These types will however,

show up as backing materials of tufted as as well

as carpets that have been woven.

Cotton

Cotton is a vegetable seed fiber that is produced

from the cotton plant. The primary use for this

fiber is yarns woven in carpet or rugs. Cotton is

resistant to alkaline solutions and becomes stronger

when it is wet.

The biggest disadvantages to cotton is the fact

that is the most absorbent of all fibers and requires

extended drying times after being wet cleaned. It

is also easily damaged by acids, stains easily,

mats down, soils quickly, and is subject to mildew,

dry rot, and shrinkage.

Jute

The fiber of jute is produced by the jute plant

which grows in South America, Pakistan, and even in

India. The stalk of the jute plant is where the

longer coarse fibers are obtained, located between

the outer bark and within the inner pulp.

Jute is normally used as weft yarns, across the

width, in woven carpets and as a backing material

in the construction of tufted carpets. Jute is an

inexpensive material that also serves other uses

than just carpet. Like all other fibers, this one

has disadvantages as well. The fiber is weak when

it becomes wet and is also subject to dry rot,

shrinkage, and mildew.

Sisal

The fiber of sisal is produced by the leaves of the

agave plant. Sisal is very strong and primarily

used for making rugs, sacking, rope, and even

carpet. The fiber stains easily and is also very

difficult to clean. Wet cleaning can also cause

shrinkage so its best to use low moisture methods.

Rayon

There is quite a bit of confusion about rayon and

it is easy to understand why. Rayon is a

synthetic fiber that is produced from natural

cellulosic fibers of wood pulp or cotton. The

material is put through several chemical treatments

which help to turn it into a synthetic fiber.

Primarily, rayon is used for area rugs because of

its silk like appearance. It can be damaged by

acids, has low resistance to abrasion and is also

prone to cellulose browning.

Have fun while making money through blogging

Blogs are considered to be one of the "in" things in today's society. Through blogging, you will be able to share your thoughts and ideas for the whole world to read. However, what if you can make money through blogging? It would definitely be a very nice idea and since you do it frequently, why not make some money out of it? This way, you will be able to make some money out of something that is seemingly worthless.

First, before you think about making money through blogging, you first need to know about certain blogging tips that you need in order for it to generate cash.

You have to remember that your blogging website should be dedicated to a specific niche market. This means that your blog website should focus on a specific subject and not just about anything that the world has to offer. For example, if you like cars and you know how cars technically work then you should start a car repair or car maintenance blog. This way you will generate targeted traffic to your website and encourage them to come back for more.

Your blog should also be updated regularly. The reason? This is because frequent visitors in your blogging website would really want to be kept updated about the certain topic you are discussing. Think of it as subscribing to a magazine where every month, you will learn about new things in it. Surely you don’t want to read the same thing over and over again. Take care of your readers by updating and posting fresh contents for your blog website.

You also need a good blog host or blog application. Today, there are several website that offers blog hosting. Make sure that you register with one that you can truly depend upon when it comes to generating targeted traffic. Besides, if people can't find your blog, then there's no point in starting one at all.

You also need enough back links in order to generate more targeted traffic. When you start making a blogging website, directory submission would be sufficient.

Lastly, you have to provide high quality articles to your blogging website. Besides, if you come across a poorly written article, chances are, you will just skip through it and find another article with the same subject. It also helps to support the articles with pictures to make it easier for your readers to understand what you are talking about.

Now that you have all these things in your blog, you now need to know how to make money through blogging. One of the best ways to do this is through affiliate marketing. What you should do is choose an affiliate program that is related to the contents of your blogs or related to the topic inside your blogging website. Affiliate programs works just like billboards. The affiliate company will be making use of your website as a virtual billboard to post in their advertising. If a reader from your website chooses to click on the link and buy a particular product from your affiliate company, then you will earn a commission on that purchase.

Although the commission is relatively small, you have to consider the fact that millions of people are surfing the internet today. The key here is targeted traffic and a group of dedicated readers. Through this, you will be able to get a constant income from your blog website. Just remember to update your blog website frequently with fresh topics and keep your readers interested. In time, you may even quit your day job and focus on your blogging website as the money it will generate will be far more than you expected it to be.

Need a car bad credit not a problem

It is one of the things people need the most, a car. Without a car your whole world stops and you are at the mercy of friends or public transportation. So what if you need a car but your credit is bad? Is this where you stop and give up hope? The answer is no, even those with bad credit can obtain transportation.

There are many lenders to choose from when trying to find someone to finance a car when your credit is bad; the key to finding them is research. The name of those who will lend you money for a vehicle even though your credit is bad is high risk lenders. They usually require more information than traditional lenders and they usually sport higher interest rates but in the end they will loan you that money for a vehicle.

It is usually easier to purchase a newer vehicle with a high risk loan because the lender wants the vehicle to be worth the chance they take. If the vehicle is newer the resell value on it is higher and thus the risk is lower. So not only are your chances good that you may walk away with a vehicle but probably a better one then you originally thought.

One of the things to consider when taking out a high risk loan is that the interest rate will be higher then a bank loan. This is the price the consumer pays for the loan company taking a chance on them. Sometimes interest can be as high as 29 or 30 percent which drives the payments up as well, but once again it is a high risk loan and this is one of the “catches” to having to take one out.

Another issue for those who are taking out a high risk loan face is having to make higher down payments. Again this just ensures the loan company that you are fully invested in the purchase of the car. Of course a higher down payment will also lower your regular payments to some degree too so it may not be such a bad idea after all.

So anyone can purchase a vehicle no matter what their credit, it is just a matter of doing the research to find the right loan for you.

Credit card application facts

If you have never applied for a credit card before, there are things you will need to know about them. Credit cards can bring you a convenience which is unrivaled by using cash or checks. Despite this, using your credit card improperly and can lead to a financial hardship which is difficult to overcome. Many credit card companies will now allow you to apply for cards online. This has made it easy for people to compare credit card offers.

The first thing you want to do is look for a credit card which interests you. It should be a card which has a low interest rate, and you will also want to get cards which have no annual fees. Some companies offer an introductory rate of 0% APR for the first 6 months. There are a large number of reputable sites online where you can compare credit card offers side by side. Make sure that the site you use is encrypted.

When you apply for the card, you will need to have some basic information on hand. You will need your social security number, driver's license information and your address. You may also have to submit your date of birth. Once you submit your application, the credit card company or bank will review it. When you go online, remember that not all websites may be secure. Look for sites which use an SSL encryption system. You don't want to submit your personal information to sites you're not sure about. You can apply for one credit card, or multiple credit cards. It is important to remember that having too many accounts could lower your credit score. Shopping for credit cards online can allow you to compare the different offers available from the comfort of your home. You can look for the best interest rates and features. While shopping for credit cards online is fast, it is important to remember that some websites are fraudulent. Applying for credit cards has never been easier.

Weight and weight loss

Weight loss is a tricky subject because of the amount of conflicting information. Americans spend approximately $30 billion per year on diet programs, products, foods, and drinks. Countless publications, experts, and doctors all propose one scheme or another, and most people are left with their own ideas and methods on how to make the process easy, pain-free, and effective; however, these homegrown methods might not be safe, sustainable, or good for you. It's important to lose weight because excess weight is a risk factor in Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, osteoarthritis, and elevated blood pressure. It's critical to keep in mind that whatever your goals - athletic performance, aesthetics and attraction, or spousal pressure - that you not lose too much and encounter the plethora of problems associated with being underweight such as increased risk of death, immune system weakening, and trouble regulating body temperature.

Some safe, effective, and documented weight loss methods are as follows:

Monitor and reduce caloric intake and increase physical exercise.

Raw plant foods are low in calories and high in nutrients. Try blending a variety and flavoring with berries or apples to nourish your cells.

Eliminate all foods that you know are bad for you like soda, ice cream, and cheesecake.

Don't immediately reduce calories or your body could go berserk. Reduce slowly to counteract any metabolic surprises.

Don't stuff yourself before sleep. There's no way to burn it off while you're snoozing, obviously.

Be healthy by drinking plenty of water, getting some sunshine and fresh air, and getting all your nutrients with raw plant-based smoothies and multi-vitamin/mineral supplements with food sources, i. e. Mannatech's PhytoMatrix. Weight loss is more likely to occur when you have the enzymes, minerals, and hormones you need to thrive.

Nutrition experts generally concur that the only proven way to lose weight is to decease energy intake and increase energy expenditure. In other words, exercise more and eat less. You can try these tips too.

Replace fatty sauces with lemon or lime juice, soy sauce, salsa or different spices.

Eater smaller, more frequent meals to avoid hunger.

Replace simple carbs with complex ones like wild rice and beans. Eat frequently.

Metabolism will slow down if you get starved. Thus, it will be harder to lose weight in the future.

Finally, create a food diary. Keep an inexpensive spiral notebook with you wherever you for a couple of weeks. It can be a valuable asset when you consult a nutritional expert, doctor, ordietitian.

In case you're looking for a way to curb calorie cravings, certain appetite suppressants are also showing success and pulling in media attention on shows like Oprah, 60 Minutes, the LA Times, and BBC News. One such supplement is Hoodithin. It's derived from Hoodia that grows in the South African deserts, and it's been used on long journeys to stave off thirst and hunger. Here's a quote from the Hoodithin web site, "The chemical constituents in HoodiThin™ work within the satiety center by releasing a chemical compound similar to glucose, but is up to 100,000 times more powerful. The hypothalamus receives this signal as an indication that enough food has been consumed and this in turn stunts the appetite."

0-on-balance-transfers-03

Day after day Americans receive oodles of credit card pitches in their mail boxes. There's hardly anything you can really do about it, other than tear them to shreds and toss them in the trash can. I mean come on; how many credit cards do they really think we need. We're not trying to acquire one for each and every store we shop at. Anyway, there is one thing we all tend to notice on credit card offers, and that's "0 on balance transfers." This phrase often catches our eye. Sometimes we're even looking for it. Now, a bigger question lied in the details. Yeah, you know; the finer print. How long will the 0 on balance transfers last? Is it only for the first year or is it a fixed APR? Also, how large can the balance transfers be? These are pertinent questions for each and all of us who have credit card debt.

Wow, did you know they start sending credit card ads your way once you're 18? I of course noticed this when I turned 18. Suddenly I was getting pitches from all the big boys like MasterCard and Visa. This seemed kind of cool to me at the time. It made me feel like I was truly reaching adulthood. However, since I ended up getting a credit card back then, these days I grapple with credit card debt. It was a trap in some sense. They love to snag you when you're still young and naive. So look out all you teenagers! A few years back I was actually searching for a decent 0 on balance transfers credit card offer. I needed a way to consolidate the hefty credit card bill I currently had. My APR was suddenly 13.25. That's horrible. I needed to find that awesome credit card pitch with the 0 on balance transfers option. This way I could transfer my entire balance to the new card and no longer deal with the terrible monthly percentage rate. I think most folks can relate to this common routine. Heck, we all strive to do this at some point in our lives. The only down side is that most of the 0 on balance transfers deals only last a year before the interest rate rises.

The web is a wonderful source to exhaust if you're in need of a better credit card deal. Get online and punch the words "0 on balance transfers" in your Google search engine. Sort through the numerous results in order to see which credit card looks right for you.

Follow-up or die - your accountant will love you

It took me over three years to learn why I had been successful and also why I had been failing so bad in sales. It all boiled down to one thing: My ability and determination to Follow-up with prospects and with new customers and associates after their initial introduction to my product line!

Why so long to do a "duh" you might ask? Very simple! My trainers and mentors did not know to Follow-up either! This is part of the reason that salesmen have a very high failure rate. People do not understand marketing and thus the strategic importance of following up on prospects.

Read this statistic about the importance of following up from an association of professional salesmen. Their statistics show that the most sales by far are made from the 5th through the 12th contact! Here is the data they have compiled about on which contact sales are made:

2% of sales are made on the 1st contact

3% of sales are made on the 2nd contact

5% of sales are made on the 3rd contact

10% of sales are made on the 4th contact

80% of sales are made on the 5th-12th contact

Realizing that, don't you think it would be good to go out and learn how to be a good salesman? Your mentors are providing that for you right now so listen up. (They are aren't they? If not, better find a good mentor as going it on your own in any sales business is suicide!) Like in any education process, it is good to go out and READ more about what successful people do in your chosen field to make the success they have. People like Tom Hopkins, Zig Ziegler, Jim Rohn, A. L. Williams and others are all expert salesmen who are now in the training mode of helping others understand the techniques that got them where they are today.

So, back to the statistics. 80% of all sales are made from the 5th through the 12th contact! Wow! Are you beginning to see why your closing rate is so low?

Gil Cargill, a former VP Sales from IBM who now is a sales management consultant provided the following statistics from the Sales & Marketing Management Institute that are interesting relative to how all buyers identify and pursue buying plans:

(1) 87% of all leads are never pursued

(2) 45% - 63% of the all leads eventually buy the product or service from someone

(3) 48% of all sales leads that are pursued are dropped after the first call/meeting

(4) 80% of all sales close after the fifth contact/meeting (see above)

(5) 73% of sales people do not have a growth plan for their top five accounts

His main point was that effective business development methods ensure we are "in front of the customer" when he/she make the sales decision. Tenacity and planning are more important than eloquence!

Here is another example of why repeated exposure is important. How many times a day do you see or hear about Coca-Cola or McDonalds or Pepsi? I know there is a statistic somewhere on this but I'm betting it's in the dozens or higher per merchandiser. You hear Coke ads, you see them on billboards, you see them in magazines, on TV, on radio, and on and on.

Why? You already know you like Coke. You already know where to buy it. You already know the cost or nearly so. Why does Coke pay millions per month in advertising costs? One reason and one reason only: To keep Coke on your mind as often as possible so you will be more likely to crave it and therefore buy it. They want you to think of Coke as often as humanly possible!

You should consider marketing your products or services to your buying prospects the same way. It's war out there where everyone is vying for part of the consumers mind. You don't have to play dirty to win but you MUST play the game HARD consistently, persistently and with the utmost determination to succeed.

That means getting your message in front of the prospect repeatedly over the course of time from your initial introduction to him until he tells you to stop sending information. This may seem drastic, but who will be sending your prospect information if you are not? Guaranteed it will be someone else who will be there when the time is right for the prospect and you will have lost a sale because you failed to continually stay in the prospects face.

"I don't have the time to do that!" you say.

"YOU MUST" I say!

You can either do it manually with pencil and paper records. Or, you can do it with some sort of database reminder system. Or with a folder system either manual or electronic. Or, you can let technology do it for you!

I vote for letting technology do it for me! One system that I use takes my prospect from the initial "Send Info" request through infinite Follow-ups! All automatically. That's right! Automatically, out of my hands. The system just lets me know who requested info and when and it does the rest for me.

(WARNING!!! The auto responder above has "Sales Letters" in it. "Oh my God! Not another article that markets someone else's products!" YES! It HAS to promote something for you to see what a GOOD marketing system/campaign looks like. If you can not stomach seeing a marketing campaign for my product line or are afraid it might make you buy something, then don't click it. I have been accused of scamming folks when I put the above paragraphs in this article above so I wanted to warn you about what you are getting yourself indoctrinated ahead of time to let you opt out of learning how expert marketers do their marketing.)

The result from that a/r sequence:

Prospects call or email me; "I'm ready! Tell me what to do next!"

Read what one of the auto responder sites says about Follow-up:

Q. How much would you expect to increase your sales if you made 4 or more follow-up e-mail communications?

A. 173% (E-Marketing Today).

Q. If you doubled this communication rate, could you expect even greater returns?

A. Many customers are showing increases of over 400%

My mentors think I'm a master salesman. WRONG! I'm a master educator and use systems to do it for me. I could never find all the time and organization to Follow-up with hundreds of prospects like automated systems can. All I did was write the initial copy of the outgoing emails (actually, my mentors wrote some of them) and load them up into the system and told it how far apart to space the emails.

BUT! Don't think technology will do it all for you. You can close another 20% or more of your contacts with personal contact. People buy "You" as much or more than they buy a product or service. Personal contact makes you into a real person instead of a simple email address or Fax-On-Demand piece of paper.

I most highly recommend calling your prospects. I don't care if you are good on the phone or not. Don't try to "sell" anything on the phone, don't make up a canned pitch like some insurance salesman or mortgage broker. Just strike up a conversation and see what concerns they have. Answer their concern(s) if you can or promise to get back to them via phone, fax or email with an answer. Always be polite and honest and you will be amazed at how many folks respond positively to you. Use others for three-ways until you get the hang of it. It will add an invaluable measure of success to your business.

Finally, you MUST have a good message, good product, good prices and a better deal than everyone else your consumer has seen. If you Follow-up religiously with crummy messages, poor grammar, writing that is not client-centered and benefit-focused, you will NOT see more sales no matter how many times you Follow-up. A lot of that "better deal" is YOU too but your written message must be powerful and totally client-centered. If you are not a good writer, find a seasoned copywriter to help you work up the hard-hitting pieces you will need.

So, what are the rules here?

1. Follow-up from 5 to 12 times to get in that 80% bracket.

2. Let technology do the Follow-up for you.

3. Call your prospects on the phone and make a friend.

4. Use client-centered, benefit-focused copy to get your message across.

By the way, depending on what you are selling in products or services, almost everyone is a potential customer most likely, if not now, then in the future. Do you think it makes sense to keep in contact with them? If you said YES, you are right!

How can you do that without pitching them on your product they don't want or need now?

a: Start a periodic ezine and Follow-up weekly with useful information!

b: Have them read some of the articles on my site to see if they are potential candidates:

Remember; the fortune is in the Follow-up. Your accountant will love you if you do Follow-up. You will be out of business if you don't.

Wine is a fitting way to express your pride and fulfillment over an accomplishment or that of someone that is very dear to you. A great way to celebrate the present and look toward the future with optimism and resolve.

These are some of the themes that you can incorporate into your very own design. Don't limit yourself to conventional ideas, use your imagination and creativity to come up with something that is truly unique and special. There is nothing better than giving a gift to someone special that you designed yourself. That person will appreciate your gift all the more since it is one of a kind and truly a labor of love on your part.

20 - why you should use graphic templates

Why You Should Use Graphic Templates

When it comes to graphics, most Internet marketers shy away from using graphic templates whether it's ebook covers, website layouts or promotional banners because they firmly believe that by using graphic templates, they are tarnishing their own business. They want to own a unique identity and hence will always find a professional graphic designer to do the job. Well, you're in for a big surprise!

When you purchase a graphic template, you will be able to customize it to an extent or even build a totally new design based on it! What's the point of using the template then, you say? Well, it serves as a source of inspiration and ideas for a totally new design. You can't derive anything from a blank canvas, right?

On top of that, you are actually saving a lot of precious time that you can otherwise spend on more important matters like developing new products or market your products. When you buy a pre-made template, you only need to edit a thing or two to give it an identity of your own, and that gives you more time and flexibility to work on other stuff.

Okay, let's say you argue that hiring a designer to do the job is equally fast. That may be true but don't forget, hiring a professional designer to do a custom design for you will cost you a lot of money. Unless you need a totally unique identity that you are aiming to establish firmly in your niche market, you don't need to get a designer to design it for you.

Not all graphic templates are suitable, so you have to be careful when choosing one. Consider quality over the price, and you're on your way to creating a positive image for your business while saving more time for more productive chores!

Level 1 to 20 in world of warcraft

Starting off: 1-20

1. You've just entered the world of warcraft, and you're level one. You aren't really worried about money right now so just pick up a lot of quests to start.

2. Finish up quests, and when you have depleted the entire starting area of quests you should have leveled considerably! Hurray for you, also some of your starting quests have made you, that's right, GOLD.

3. Leave the starting area, gather a few quests, and train because you have the money.

4. Do every quest you've gathered, and along the way to speak to that npc or find that mob of raptors, kill some experience giving monsters, or luckily humanoids!

5. You've started a cycle, gather, grind, complete, and it is a money maker.

6. When you hit level 15 you should have an instance possibility! (for horde, for alliance it is Deadmines at level 17 or so.)

7. (This consists of alliance directions to deadmines.) Ok if you are a human, lucky you, if not, well... Night elves - (Get a hearth to auberdine before doing this, it helps) Hopefully by now you have been to ironforge, or better, stormwind! if you haven't been to IF then you need to travel to Auberdine (level 12+ place should be grind-questing by now.) and take the boat on the right to menethil harbor. Spoiler, this place is your friend!

Now you MUST follow the road all the way to Dun Morough or you will die by crocolisk! Then follow the road to IF. Take the deeprun tram to stormwind, and get through stormwind head south down the road close to goldshire, then get to westfall. (BTW get in a good guild asap, they can help.)

Go to sentinel hill and then get the quests from the shiny armor man stading dead center of the entrance. You will get massive xp and finishing the chain will help.

Night elves have the farthest journey, dwarves and gnomes take the tram, humans just walk.

8. Repeat doing the deadmines as much as you can, this is called harvesting. Harvest until you have made one gold!

9. Congratulationss, you have made one gold!

10. You should nearly be level 20 by now, or close to being close.

11. Grind on Defias people on the gold coast, until you have made a level.

12. Find a grinding spot that suits you (get quests from Westfall until it no more appeases you, or helps whatsoever).

13. This is power leveling and money making at the same time, it makes a strong character later on, trust me, it is tedious.

14. Thank you for reading and using my guide to level 20, and a semi rich character. Stay away from gold farmers! Be safe on the net!

How to create and add a shopping cart to a site

There are many solutions to adding a shopping cart to an online merchant site. You may want a very personalized shopping cart for your portal and so will have to hire the expert services of a software programmer.

There are many online merchant solution service providers out there and can have your shopping cart software and payment gateway set up and running in a matter of days, but it is bound to cost you.

Then there are free online merchant solutions available such as the many online payment services. PayPal is one such solution and a very trusted one.

With the free online merchant solutions available you do not have to make a payment up front. These services charge you a percentage of the payments you receive online.

They have ready made software that is easy to install on your site. You just have to fill in an online form that requires some details of your business and payment procedures.

They will then provide you with software code that is generated instantly. You have to just copy and paste this code in the html code of you site.

The online payment processor will guide you how to do this as well. When you are done, you will be able to accept payments from customers through credit cards and debit cards. The difference with the free payment processors and customized online merchant software is that the money will not be deposited into your bank directly.

The payment will go to the online free payment processors account and you will have to withdraw it from there to your bank account for which there will invariably be a charge.

These are good solutions for small online businesses as it beats paying huge software development costs.

The Benefits Of An Online Merchant Account

The internet has emerged as the largest marketplace and source for information. It is estimated that about a million people are being introduced to the internet every 100 days.

This included emails and search engine services. In fact, surveys have shown that 80% of all online sales begin as a search on some major search engine.

It is possible for a business establishment to advertise, sell and collect payments online without ever having to meet the customer personally.

Technology has advanced with such a rapid pace in the past ten years that electronic payments have become the norm of the day. More than 40% of payments are transacted electronically through credit and debit cards, apart from the usual wire transfers and online payment portals.

One of the emerging payment methods is through mobile phones. It is fast catching on and experts in the field feel that this is going to be the preferred payment method worldwide. Paying through your mobile handset will be as easy as sending an SMS.

With these advancements and most businesses adapting their payment procedures and policies to suit customer’s conveniences, it is only advisable in the interest of business that any business set up an online merchant account with a payment processor in order to cash in on the business that is being transacted on the Internet.

There are many online merchant solution providers out there and have established themselves in the field setting up and maintaining online merchant software and products that fraud, though exists, is very difficult to perpetuate.

So get yourself an online merchant account and get a piece of the action that your competitors will otherwise get.

What Are Transaction Processing Solutions?

Transaction processing, as the name suggests, is a process of carrying through a transaction from making a payment for a service or product to the actual delivery of the same.

Most businesses are carrying out these transactions online with the help of sophisticated software. This transaction processing software records every step of the transaction for future reference.

A good transaction processing solution will not only record all transactions but will be able to tabulate and reproduce any or all of them at any given time. This aids in rectifying any problem or error by recalling a particular transaction and tracing each step right down to the point where the mistake was made and rectifying the same.

Online transaction processing is a very crucial part of any online business. It is an electronic ledger of all the business transactions carried out by the online merchant account.

There are many online merchant transaction processing solutions available. A merchant may choose to get a ready-to-use transaction processing software or may choose to have a customized one made for his online merchant account. Of course, there are vast cost implications involved, however there is almost no difference in the security levels of the two.

It is imperative for an online merchant account to have a transaction processing solution in order to transact business online. From accepting an order, processing payments and getting the cash in the bank, transaction software is what will get the job done.

Internet Payment Gateways – Should You Make Your Own In-house

An internet payment gateway is crucial for any online merchant account to facilitate selling goods and accepting payment for the same. This is known as e-commerce.

This process is like any sale made in a physical store, where someone buys a product and passes his or her card to the check out clerk for payment. Only with an Internet payment gateway, the customer does not have to pass his card over but just enter the card data into a secure online form.

This data will include the card number, name of the holder and the CVV number on the rear of the card. The payment will be debited from the card and in a matter of days, will be credited to the merchant’s bank account.

From a security aspect, online payment gateways are quite secure, though the customer should be certain that he or she is using a reputed site. Look for the ‘s’ after the ‘http’ in the URL of the site.

This is a start but not a guarantee to prevent the site from using your card information for illicit purposes. So does it make a difference if you make your own Internet payment gateway in-house? Perhaps yes.

This will give the net savvy customer a feel that you have taken the trouble of developing your own secure software instead of just getting one off the net. It will also merge with your site design instead of displaying other third party ads and logos on your site.

It may cost you a little more, but you will be offering your online customers a sense of security and will have full control of the software. So you will not have to wait for the third party to wake up to rectify any fault in the online processing solution they have set up for you.

How To Open An Online Merchant Account

An online merchant account is an account that is known as a “Payment Gateway”. It is not a very difficult task to open an online merchant account.

A payment gateway is a software that your web developer or engineer will have to incorporate into your web site.

This is software that may or may not include a shopping cart, a system that allows visitors to your online merchant site to browse through your products and add them to a virtual cart, much like a shopping cart at a super mall.

The visitor will ultimately keep or remove items from the cart and pay for the remaining items through the payment gateway.

A payment gateway may or may not be linked to your merchant bank account. This depends on the type of online merchant solution you have chosen. You may have had the software created especially for your site; in this case the software will naturally accept all credit cards and will be linked to the major credit card processing companies such as VISA or MasterCard.

The software will also be linked to your merchant bank account. Customers can use this software to pay for services and products using credit cards, debit cards and bank transfers.

When someone uses a card or online banking to make a payment the user is connected to the bank that issues the card and the money is transferred to the bank within a matter of days. Nevertheless, you may go ahead and complete the transaction by delivering the product to the customer as the payment will definitely come through.

Online merchant solutions are a way of taking your business to your customers instead of waiting for them to come to you. The online payment systems are an added advantage as anyone will like to have convenience at their fingertips.

For your first fencing class

Fencing is a great sport that sparks the imagination of young and old and, at the highest levels, is very entertaining to watch.

Each year thousands of people seek out the sport of fencing and a large number who try it out continue on with the sport, as evidenced by the growth in fencing clubs around the United States in recent years.

While fencing is sometimes hard to find, most large colleges and universities offer basic instruction in their PE departments, and a few also offer it in their continuing education series. Also, many university clubs help supplement their operating costs by running beginning fencing classes and those are taught by experienced fencers.

When looking into taking a fencing class, there are a few things to consider and a few things you should know to get the most enjoyment out of your first fencing class.

First off - make sure to do some basic stretching beforehand. In fencing you do a lot of work with the legs, so stretches that focus on the groin, hamstring, and quads are good. After your first class you will definately feel it in the groin, so learn the "butterfly stretch" and make sure to stretch after every session.

Next, wear comfortable clothes. Don't wear jeans! You should wear sweat pants that move with you - you'll be doing lunges so nothing to tight that will restrict movement. A close fitting shirt would be good also since you'll do some footwork without a protective jacket, but all weapon drills will be with protective gear on.

Women should make sure that the club has hard chest protectors for you to use.

For shoes, stay away from running shoes. Use a court shoe or cross training shoe. Basically anything that provides stability for side to side foot motions.

Most beginning fencing classes cover the basics of footwork and use of the foil, one of three fencing weapons. Most classes meet once per week for 8 to 10 weeks and range in cost from $100 to $150 depending on the level of expertise of the coaching and the area of the country you are in.

Lastly - bring in a sense of fun and desire for learning. You won't be great your first class in - but there is a lot to learn in the sport. After a few classes, you just may find yourself hooked.

How to find the best caterer for your party

The caterer has a very important role in your party. Therefore, you should take extra care in hiring the right caterer for you party day. Just like hiring any other vendor, you have to make your selection based on facts not feelings. The caterer may be an individual or a business. Even if the caterer is an individual, she still has to operate as a business. The caterer cannot legally cook at home and serve the food at your party. It is illegal for a caterer to use an unlicensed kitchen to prepare food.

The caterer you hire should be experienced in catering parties you are planning. Some caterers may be more experienced with smaller events, some with larger events. It is your job to make sure that they are the right fit. During your interview process, you should ask about the kind of events they have catered. Ask about the size of the parties, how many guests they catered for. Ask if they had to deal with any emergencies or unexpected occurences. To learn about how they deal with emergencies may help you understand their level of professionalism.

You should never hire the first caterer you meet or the first caterer recommended by someone else. It may be tempting to hire the first caterer, especially, if you hit it off really well. It is in your best interest to meet with several caterers before you make your final decision.

You must check references before you make your decision. If a caterer does not have any references, he just disqualified himself. You don’t want anything to do with a caterer that offers no references. References are important, but they do not provide an absolute protection. You may be able to visit the caterer’s kitchen, so you can see their operation in action. A visit can help you examine their organization and cleanliness.

Caterers get booked well in advance, so hire one early. You should have a caterer lined up no less than 6 months prior to your party. If you can find one a year before your event is even better. The more time you leave yourself to hire a caterer the more chance you give yourself to hire the right caterer.

Once you have made a decision, it is time to put it all in writing. You should insist on a written contract. The contract should include the details, of the menu, the date of the event, what is and is not included.

How far is dubai tax free in reality

One of the major reasons why so many travelers fly across Dubai's airspace is the duty free goods they can buy from its international airport. However, contrary to the popular belief, Dubai is not a tax free territory. It does provide certain tax incentives for various businesses to function and grow economically. The trend of tax benefits began making rounds with the announcement of Jebel Ali Free-trade zone in 1985. Several more have been added into this list since then, until recently. These additions include Maritime City, the Internet and Media Cities, the International Financial Centre and the Airport Free Zone.

Oil revenues were the main segment of Dubai's per capita income in the post oil exploration period of 1960s. This however, transformed dramatically once the free zones began showing dividends. As a result, no longer do they have to rely on the oil reserves for their economic well being. The amount of foreign investment has been going up remarkably in the post free zones period, and makes much of Dubai's commerce boost right now. We will have a quick overview of what these free-trade zones are all about and where they are expected to lead Dubai in the years to follow.

The Jebel Ali Free Zone

The Jebel Ali Free Zone is the largest of its kind in the entire middle east and one of the most tax friendly across the globe. The administration has spent over $2.5 billion on its development since its commencement in 1985. Closely linked with the state-of-the-art Jebel Ali Seaport and the cargo village of Dubai international airport, the free trade area provides amazing turnaround for sea-air transportation. It also gives an access to the companies to an estimated consumer market of over 1.5 billion in the countries surrounded by the Gulf and Red sea. Companies are initially allowed to have a 15 year tax exemption period, which is then allowed to be renewed by another 15 years. Over 2000 companies from across the world are functioning at this juncture from this free zone.

Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City (DIC)

These zones were created in 1990 to address to the growing demands of media and communications companies seeking benefits on a par with the Jebel Ali Free Zone. A fifty year tax exemption is granted initially, and no restrictions of local partnership or sponsors are applicable for the investors in these areas. Leading names such as Microsoft, Canon, McGraw-Hill, Reuters, and CNN are already among the major stake holders of this free trade entity. Benefits for the investors include a highly advanced technical infrastructure for their business operations apart from the general tax booties they could enjoy.

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC)

DIFC was created in 2004 with an intent on providing financial companies with a permanent foothold in the region. This will lead to the strengthening of economic activities in the UAE and the Middle East as a whole. There are no constraints on how long the companies may remain under various tax benefits, thus making investments in this zone far more lucrative. DIFC carries six segments including the Banking Services, Capital Markets, Asset Management & Fund Registration, Reinsurance, Back Office Operations and Islamic Finance.

Dubai Airport Free Zone

Established at the international airport in 1996, the Dubai Airport Free Zone already holds over 460 companies from various sectors. Benefitors enjoy 100% tax exemption, 100% ownership rights, easy access to airport facilities, rapid cargo clearance and an availability of cheap labour. Companies such as Bang & Oulfsen, Boeing and Caterpiller are some of the stake holders in this free trade area.

The Dubai Maritime City

The Dubai Maritime City will be the latest addition to the growing list of free zones in Dubai. An estimated marine area of 2.5 million square meters will be handed over to the marine and maritime related industries. The zone is expected to be completed before the end of 2006.

As Dubai’s administration continues on with their free trade policies, the share of oil revenues in the GDP is bound to go down further with each passing year. The development of free zones was aimed on achieving this miracle for Dubai's populace and they have handsomely succeeded in doing so until this date.
